I am currently recruiting for a PMO for a leading UK Bank. The role will be based in Edinburgh and will be an initial 6 month contract. The PMO will be supporting one of the large Business Change Programmes ongoing within the organisation.
The PMO role is to provide specific support to the Head of Strategy & Change for one of the Business Change Programmes. The key responsibilities for this role is to control and report mechanisms including planning, status reporting, liaising with Programme and Project Managers, preparing Board papers, controlling risks and issues and ensuring all programme dependencies are managed.
As the PMO you will be responsible for:
Development and improvement of reporting processes
Management of PMO colleagues
Quality assurance of reporting mechanisms
Management of project plan, dependencies, risks and issues
Management of project finances
The key skills and experience required for the PMO role is:
Previous experience of working within Banking or Financial Services
Specific experience of working on a Business Change or Transformation Programme
Good knowledge of project management disciplines, standards and processes
Project delivery experience
Ability to analyse and interpret complex information in a fast-paced environment
Ability to clearly communicate ideas, proposals and implications to a broad set of stakeholders
Proven ability to work effectively with IT
Stakeholder management
Proven ability to work with senior managers to review, challenge and support business unit strategies as appropriate.
Proven ability to manage risk effectively, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
