Business Project Manager
ROLE TITLE: Business Project Manager
Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to deliver projects to fulfil the operating plan of the company. This role will focus on the delivery of numerous projects with the aim to deliver the required streams of core-technology development. The Project Manager will fulfil a traditional PM role utilising the company PMM (Project Management Methodology) to deliver projects to schedule and to budget. Strong emphasis will be placed on the PM taking full responsibility for delivery of projects
Main responsibilities
Establish project team, stakeholders and sponsors
Present, plan and provide periodic management reporting on project progress as well as day to day communication with stakeholders and project teams.
Plan, resource and schedule project deliverables across multiple departments
Own project estimates and control budget
Ability to take a holistic view of project scope, challenging the business case when required.
Work with stakeholders and IT Project Manager to ensure delivery is on schedule and to quality.
Manage issues and risks, escalating potential problems and mitigating actions to the project board/decision makers.
Leading, motivating and influencing project teams in successful delivery.
Liaise with other business functions including IT Delivery, Business Analysts, CRM, SEO, SEM, Marketing and Commercial Teams.
Any other reasonable requirements consistent with this level of role.

Qualifications required
Essential
Able to demonstrate experience in the application of Project Management competencies; running projects across multiple teams/disciplines in a process driven environment.
An appreciation for working to tight deadlines in a fast paced development environment.
Desirable
Formal Project Management training
A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in any subject
Prince 2 / APMP / PMI or equivalent
Knowledge of RUP/Agile Software Delivery
Background, Experience and Skills/abilities
Strong working knowledge and application of project management principles and processes within a Product Development Lifecycle.
Excellent Stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels (written and verbal).
The ability to challenge the business case and control project scope.
Strong working knowledge of effective Project Governance
Strong working knowledge of implementing Business Change
Strong working knowledge of benefits realisation process
Has the ability to influence the IT project team to focus on business value within project delivery
Working knowledge of Earned Value Analysis.
Strong risk analysis and management skills.
Good presentation and documentation skills.
Confident, with the ability to present ideas persuasively.
Excellent planning, estimating and budgeting skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and work breakdown skills.
Has the ability to take the holistic view.
Willingness to take ownership and responsibility in all aspects of project delivery.
Team Management Skills ensuring all project team members work to required standards
Dependency Management and the ability to prioritise work.
Facilitating Workshops, Organising and Chairing Meetings.
Natural ability to lead and coach others.
Desirable
Understanding of Web Technologies, their development methodologies and lifecycles, preferably from an Agile or Iterative Software Delivery environment.
Understanding of software testing and quality assurance processes.
