ROLE TITLE: IT Operations Director
Description -
The IT Operations Director role is to ensure the effective operation of the IT Delivery in alignment with the business objectives of the Enterprise Division to which they are allocated. Reporting to the Group IT Operations Director, this individual will manage operational and strategic delivery ensuring the business does not under request IT delivery, and fully utilises the incumbent systems. The IT Operations Director will work closely with decision makers in the IT department and also the division to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cot-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Responsibilities -
Lead IT Operational and Strategic delivery, including high level requirements identification, promoting technology innovations and leveraging the allocation of resources within the IT department managers.
Benchmark, analyse, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems within the allocated division. This must include liaison with other IT Operations Directors.
Audit provision of end-user services to the division, including application delivery, help desk and technical support services, liaising with the Group Service Delivery Manager and the development manager.
Work with stakeholders to identify high level business and systems opportunities for new technology implementations. These must then be passed on to the IT Business Analysts Manager for detailed analysis.
Keep current with the latest divisional; and industry developments.
Meet regularly with the IT Projects team to ensure that the divisions expectations are aligned to priorities, time, cost and quality. The role demands a bias towards the divisional demands.
Understand and clearly communicate the requirements of the divisions' end customers to the IT department, especially to the IT Programme Manager.
Produce a summary of service and projects for the monthly board pack.
Act as the IT owner and ensure that the division is fully supported in business development activity and all tenders have the appropriate input from the IT department
Enforce and assist in the implementations of all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.
Enforce policy and procedures relating to asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment within the division
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the divisions managing director, executives, senior management and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
