Senior Business Analyst
ROLE TITLE: Senior Business Analyst
Purpose
Specification and testing of system and operational developments.
Main Activities
Analyse highly complex operational/business requirements.
Produces, or contributes to production of, business requirement specifications, functional specifications and system testing specifications.
Liaises with internal teams, suppliers and other 3rd parties as required.
Undertakes and documents feasibility studies.
Analysis, specification and system testing of large, complex or business critical systems, both bespoke and package.
Performs system testing and assists in user acceptance testing where appropriate.
Investigates IT production system problems, making recommendations for problem resolution.
Contributes to the request for information and invitation to tender processes.
Contributes to process design and re-engineering.
Contributes to setting of standards, tools and techniques to be used in the production of business requirements, business process designs, functional requirements, RFI’s, ITT’s and testing specifications.
May manage projects.
Acts as a mentor to less experienced members of the analysis team as required.
Assists other members of the Department as appropriate.

Experience
Mandatory
At least 8 years of analysis experience obtained in an IT or business department.
At least 4 years experience of a commercial environment.
Desirable
Experience of the insurance, retail or retail financial services sectors.

Experience of the use of Transact-SQL for querying relational databases (preferably Microsoft SQL Server)

Development experience in Object Oriented environment
