Systems Analyst
ROLE TITLE: Systems Analyst
Purpose
The System Analyst’s purpose is to:
Facilitate the identification/communication of the system features and needs of the business.
Support the delivery of these system features and needs.
Main responsibilities
Business Systems Change Analysis
Analysing the impact of the Business Requirements on the Business Systems and understanding any system constraints (on delivery of business requirements). Using information from impacts/constraints and eliciting other necessary information in order to identify the Functional, Non-Functional, and User Interface Requirements. Working with domain specialists (Infrastructure, and User Interface specialists) to document, communicate, and manage the agreement of the Functional, Non-Functional, and User Interface Requirements with the key stakeholders of the Project.
Business Systems Change Delivery
Manage the Functional, Non-Functional, and User Interface Requirements throughout the Project Lifecycle ensuring full traceability to meet the Functional Design needs of the Business. Managing any change to the Functional, Non-Functional, and User Interface Requirements that may arise. Managing the handover and continued support of the Functional, Non-Functional, and User Interface Requirements to the Design, Build, and Test teams. Supporting Requirements Testing to ensure the Functional, Non-Functional, and User Interface Requirements have been met.

Qualifications required
Essential
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
Desirable
IT Degree
ISEB Certification
IIBA Certification
Background, Experience and Skills/abilities
Requirements Management
Experience of the activities associated with the production, and delivery of requirements artefacts; and experience of managing requirements through the project lifecycle.
Research and Information Elicitation – Proven track record in eliciting and assessing information. Full experience of using different requirements elicitation techniques.
Business Analysis & Modelling
Practical and conceptual understanding of business/object modelling, using process modelling, policy design, product design, organisational design, Use Case modelling (including UML). Experience of Rational Process and Suite of Products.
Facilitation Skills
Ability to effectively facilitate idea decomposition and requirements workshops. Proven track record of using influencing and persuading techniques to manage conflict and negotiate between stakeholders and teams.
Stakeholder Management
Confidently work with all levels of an organisation by building trust and demonstrating commitment to customer satisfaction.
Communication Skills
Advanced communication and presentation skills. Experience liaising with various business and technical teams, to bridge the gap between the business and IT.
Software Development Methods
Knowledge and experience of software development methods including both iterative and waterfall.
Technical Awareness
Understanding of the technical architecture and design factors applicable to Business Analysis
